APN settings on E585/R205(Pocket WiFi Pro)/E589, MF30/MF60 WiFi/MiFi hotspots

After you unlocked your mobile wifi device, you may need to create an new APN profile on your device for the new network. You can find a list of Australia 3G Network APNs here. Below are some examples on how to set up an APN on your devices. Most wifi hotspots has similar option for you to set the APN profiles, so I hope the information below can help you to set up an APN profile on your mobile wifi device. You can click on the images to enlarge them.

Please note that if you are not able to add new APN (Add/Set default buttons grey out) after you unlock your device, you may need to insert the old network SIM (which the device was locked to) in order to do it. Therefore, it would be a good idea to keep the old network SIM (even if it has already expired or no credit) with the device just in case.

Telstra Mobile WiFi MF30/Telstra Elite Mobile WiFi MF60

Telstra MF30 and MF60 have similar interface for APN settings.

1.) Connect to your MF30/MF60 via wifi and browse to http://192.168.0.1

2.) Login to your device manager and choose 3G Settings as the image below:

3.) You will then need to choose APN Setting to add new APN profile as the image below:

4.) When you are in APN setting page, scroll down the page till you see the Add button and click on it to set a new APN.

5.) When adding new profile, the most important information you need is your new network APN. Type in your profile name, new network APN and Dial No (MF60 no longer has this option as most networks use *99# for the Dial No as default) as image below. You can leave most other fields as they are if you have no idea what they are about. After you put in all the information, scroll down to the bottom of the page and choose Save or Set Default. I strongly recommended to choose Set Default if you want to use the new network immediately. You will need your new network SIM (non-Telstra SIM) card in the device in order to set the new APN as default otherwise, the Set default button is disable.

6.) Please make sure you set the APN for the network you want to use as default. Otherwise, your device will not able to connect to the network. If the APN is set correctly, you should able to connect to Internet with your new network SIM.
