In order for other network SIMs to work with these devices, the network 3G band has to be one of these frequency bands 850/1900/2100Mhz. 900/1700Mhz 3G band networks will not work on these devices.

Currently, the major 3G bands used in Australia are 850/900/2100Mhz:
Telstra – 850/2100Mhz 3G band in Metro area and 850Mhz 3G band in Regional/Rural area.
Vodafone – 850/2100Mhz 3G band in Metro area and 900Mhz 3G band in Regional/Rural area.
Optus – 2100Mhz 3G band in Metro area and 900Mhz 3G band in Regional/Rural area.

Most European and Asian countries use 2100Mhz band for the 3G networks.
